Sandra Nascimento is a photographer, visual artist and educator based in the Algarve. She began her journey in photography in 2003 and, since 2013, has developed her work independently, creating and consolidating her own projects in photography, image-making and alternative processes.
She is the creator of Deep Blue, a project focused on cyanotype and alternative photographic processes, where she explores a more hands-on, experimental approach to the photographic image.
The project unfolds between material, composition and print, using cyanotype as its main visual language. Through the characteristic blue of this process, Deep Blue investigates supports, methods, forms, textures, transparencies and graphic structures, creating one-of-a-kind pieces.
